Curtis was born on January 2, 1968, in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Curtis worked as an electronics technician with Civil Service, a career in which he was known for his dedication and technical expertise. Those who knew him well would describe him as hardheaded and stubborn, but beneath that determined personality was an incredibly kind and generous heart. Curtis never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and found genuine fulfillment in being there for others.

Curtis and his beloved wife, Kristina, shared a love of traveling and enjoyed taking trips along the East Coast. They cherished the time spent exploring new places together and making memories along the way.

Curtis will be remembered for his strong-willed personality, generous spirit, and the kindness he showed to those fortunate enough to know him. Above all, he will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they made with him.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kristina Hollowell; mother, Clara Potter of Goldsboro, NC; brother, Randy "Pete" Hollowell (Susan) of Goldsboro; mothers-in-law, Ruby Fisher of Havelock and Kim Poythress (Keith) of Havelock; father-in-law, Bill Gill (Lou) of Texas; sisters-in-law, April Gill of Havelock, Danielle Poythress (Michael) of Havelock, and Tracey Doss (Hunter) of Havelock; nephew who was like a son to Curtis, Devin Carawan; nephew and nieces, Holden Doss, Adalynn Doss and Makayla Poythress, and a special one on the way.
