Corey Lamont Dixon, 53, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at ECU Health Medical Center.

A funeral service to honor Corey’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 27th at Glad Tidings Church in Morehead City. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Glad Tidings Church.

He will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, his love of his family and coaching, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him. Whether through his work, friendships, coaching, or dedication to family, he touched many lives and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his father, Ulysses Dixon Jr.; children, Micah Dixon, Meia Dixon, Jeremiyah Dixon, Mariah Dixon, and Michon Dixon; his siblings, Shannah Norris, Melanie Black, Anthony Green, and Casier Jernigan; his cherished companion, Regina Hucks and her children, Michael Hucks, Mikail Hucks, and Miah Hucks. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Dixon, and his grandparents.

Though he will be deeply missed, Corey’s spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
