Clarence Ray Cottle, 57, of Maysville, North Carolina, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

A funeral service to honor Clarence’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 29th at Triune Holiness Church in Maysville, officiated by Rev. Jerry Smith. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born on April 10, 1968, in Morehead City, NC, Clarence was the son of Kenneth and Sandra Cottle. A Carteret County native, he graduated from West Carteret High School with the Class of 1987. Clarence devoted 17 years of his career to S.T. Wooten Corporation as an equipment operator, where he earned a reputation for his unwavering commitment and strong work ethic.

Clarence had many interests, including painting and carpentry, showcasing his skills through his work. He was also an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Dawn Trevathan Cottle; children, Clarence Ray Cottle Jr. and wife Rachel, Morgan Cottle Carroll and husband Gray, and Cameron Ray Cottle and fiancé Payton Henry; father, Kenneth Lee Cottle; sister, Stephanie Cottle Gauthreaux and husband Donny; niece, Haleigh Gauthreaux; and grandchildren, Crew Cottle, Delaney Blevins, Carson Cottle and Caroline Cottle.

In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Lee Currie Cottle.
