Charles "Chuck" Douglas Marino Sr.

Charles "Chuck" Douglas Marino Sr. 87 of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Croatan Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A celebration of life with be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday October 18th at Sound View Original Free Will Baptist Church, 1734 Highway 24 in Newport.

Born on August 12, 1938, in Mamaroneck, New York. Charles was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Marino. He joined the military at an early age and began his service in Japan before being stationed at Cherry Point where he met his wife Dixie Lee Parker Marino. They welcomed three children and were able to set down roots in Carteret County after ending his service in the military.

Following the military, he had a fulfilling career with the Civil Service at Cherry Point, where he excelled as a project manager. Charles found joy in the simple pleasures of life and enjoyed spending his time on the golf course.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Dixie Lee Marino; daughters Gina Harrison of Newport NC, and Rosalie Woods (Tim) of Newport NC; son Charles "Chuck" Marino Jr of Newport NC, six grandchildren Ray, Mike, Julie, Keila, Doug, and Melissa; and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his twelve siblings.
