Charles Butler

Charles Butler, 66, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, at his home.

Charles was born on December 20, 1956, in Hope Mills, North Carolina, to the late Deon and Oneida Butler. He grew up in Cumberland County. Charles had a love for the tranquil shores of the Carolinas. He was a passionate boat captain, whose love for the open sea was unwavering. His life was a testament to his dedication to the maritime world. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Morehead City and the Lighthouse Sunday School Class.

Charles will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his deep appreciation for the sea, and his warm and generous heart. He leaves behind memories that will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Deborah “Debbie” Butler of the home; daughters, Morgan Butler Long and her husband, Danny of Newport, NC, Elizabeth Danielle Butler of Greenville, NC; sister, Susie Beasley of Havelock, NC; brothers, Gary Butler and his wife Diane of Richlands, NC, David Butler and his wife Delores of Morehead City, NC; grandchildren, Sarah Long, Jonathan Long, and Rebekah Long, all of Newport, NC.
