Charles "Alan" Beeson passed away peacefully in his sleep and entered into the arms of Jesus on Friday, August 7, 2026.

A Celebration of Life to honor Alan will be held at a later date.

Originally from King, N.C., he was a graduate of South Stokes High School (Class of 1985). He and his mother moved to the Crystal Coast shortly after the death of his father, a place where his family made wonderful memories growing up. He was a true social butterfly who enjoyed the company of family and many, many friends. His love language was making people laugh; humor and wit were a huge part of his personality.

Golf and fishing were some of his favorite hobbies, but as a stereotypical lefty, he also had several artistic talents. He could draw faces and houses freehandedly and could play 90’s alternative rock songs on both the acoustic and electric guitar. He loved to travel, and some of his earlier life trips included visiting Scotland with his dad and brother. Sharing this love of travel with his girls, he took them on fun trips over the years.

One of his biggest and most impressive accomplishments was just earlier this year, when he survived a heart attack and recovered quicker and better than cardiologists had ever seen. Alan was known as "the miracle guy" at Carolina East Medical Center for the last 7 months. He was walking 3-5 miles most days and making sure to send his daughters all of his workout summaries. They were so proud of him and told him every chance they got. Alan's strength both mentally and physically throughout his recovery process is a trait his family plans to carry on as they grieve the loss of him.

Those left to treasure his memory are his mother, Patricia “Pat” Beeson of Newport, N.C.; daughters, Elizabeth Walser (Brooks) of Lewisville, N.C., Meredith Beeson of Winston Salem, N.C.; brother, Kevin Beeson (Amy) of Memphis, TN; niece, Claire Gulley (Stone) of Raleigh, N.C., and his beloved doodle dog, Bertie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Beeson.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to every surgeon, cardiologist, nurse, and physical therapist who helped him recover well enough to enjoy the extra time God gave him.
