Carol Quail Acheson, 68, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House
A memorial mass to honor Carol’s life will be held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, January 21st at St. Egbert’s Catholic Church, presided by Rev. Ryszard Kolodziej.
Carol was born on April 7, 1957, in Calais, Maine, to the late Charles and Lanua Preston. She adored her dogs, cherished flowers, and found much happiness in doing arts and crafts. Carol loved jewelry and dressing up, always wanting to look her very best. A devoted member of Crab Point Baptist Church, Carol’s faith was an important part of her life and guided her with kindness and compassion.
Her two beloved dogs, Patches and Princess, held a special place in her heart and were truly cherished companions. Carol will be remembered for her warm spirit, creative heart, and the love she shared with everyone around her. Her presence brought comfort, beauty, and joy to those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Paul Acheson of the home; sons, David Andrew West Sr. of Morehead City, NC, Anthony Paul Ryan Acheson (Shannon Jones) of Havelock, NC, and Christopher Allen Acheson of Morehead City, NC; grandchildren, David Andrew West Jr. of Steuben, ME, Austin West of Princeton, ME, and Brandon West of Machias, ME; and two precious grandchildren on the way.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her daughter, Ida Mae West; and her daughter-in-law, Candis Acheson.
