Calvin Eugene “Gene” Garner, 70, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, at Carteret Health Care.
Services will be scheduled at a later date.
Gene was born on September 13, 1954, to the late Charles Thomas and Lydia Bell Garner.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his sons, Charles Eugene Garner (Roxanne Shadley) and Timothy Brian Garner all of West Portsmouth, OH; sister, Elizabeth Marvel of Newport, NC; and grandchildren, Michael Garner and Lily Garner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion, Wendy Willis and son Anthony Garner.
