Bruce Calvin Buckmaster, 73, of Swansboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 20, 2026, at his home.

Bruce was born on December 13, 1952, in Morehead City, North Carolina, to Charles and Eleanor Buckmaster. He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard for four years, with duty stations in California, Puerto Rico, and Buxton, North Carolina. His time in the Coast Guard reflected his commitment to serving others.

Following his military service, Bruce built a respected career as a boat mechanic, dedicating more than 46 years to the marine industry. When he wasn’t working, Bruce loved being outdoors. He enjoyed surfing the coast, hunting and fishing whenever he had the chance and relaxing with a guitar in his hands. His wife and family will miss his steady presence and will hold their memories of Bruce close to their heart.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Arlene of Swansboro, N.C.; brothers, Charles “Pepper” Buckmaster (Kathy), Michael Buckmaster (Jan); nephews, Eric, Bryan, and Mark Buckmaster; and brother-in-law, Jim Kelley.
