Beverly Palmer Humphrey, 56, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Duke University Hospital.

A funeral service to honor Beverly’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 29th at Parkview Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. John Carswell. Interment will follow at Maysville Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Beverly was born on March 6, 1970, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Ronald and Sherry Palmer.

Beverly was a beautiful Christian woman and a faithful member of Parkview Baptist Church. Her most treasured role was that of a mother, and she cherished every opportunity to spend time with her family. Her love for others and her compassionate heart were evident throughout her life.

As a young girl, Beverly attended Camp Adam Fisher in Summerton, South Carolina, a summer camp established in 1968 to provide children with diabetes the opportunity to experience the joys of summer camp in a safe and supportive environment. Her love for the camp continued into adulthood, and she later returned as a counselor. Through this experience, Beverly developed a lifelong passion for helping children with diabetes and making a difference in their lives.

Beverly was a volunteer and advocate for Donate Life through the Morehead City Department of Motor Vehicles. She also enjoyed traveling and making memories with those she loved.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, David S. Humphrey; daughters, Shiloh Elizabeth Humphrey and Persayus Emiley Humphrey, both of Newport, NC; and brothers and their families, Philip LuVern Palmer and wife Annette of Camden, SC, and Walter Whealen Palmer and wife Christina Pinheira of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
