Betsy Jane Griggs, 78, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 8, 2026.

A celebration of Jane's life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 12th at Munden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Jane will be laid to rest privately at Gethsemane Memorial Park beside her parents.

Jane was born on September 2, 1947, in Winston-Salem, NC, to the late Curtis and Mary Kate Holt.

Jane was a beautiful Christian woman whose faith guided every part of her life. A devoted member of One Harbor Church, she trusted God completely and lived with kindness, grace, and compassion for others.

On July 22, 1978, she married the love of her life, Don, and together they built a loving family centered on faith and devotion. Being a mother was Jane's greatest blessing in life. She devoted herself completely to her boys, making countless sacrifices to ensure they were deeply loved, well cared for, and given a happy childhood filled with encouragement and support.

Jane dedicated more than 50 years of her life to caring for others as an LPN. Throughout her nursing career, she served in many areas, from labor and delivery to home health care, always treating her patients with compassion and tenderness. Caring for people came naturally to her, and she touched countless lives through her work.

Jane dearly loved the coast and found happiness in the simple joys of ocean breezes, fishing trips, and the community she cherished in Morehead City. She was also a wonderful cook who enjoyed sharing meals with those she loved. She always had a special fondness for El's Drive-In. It held a cherished place in her heart because it was after an evening there that Don proposed to her.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Don Griggs Sr; sons, Donnie Griggs Jr. and wife Jill and Curtis Griggs and wife Jennifer, all of Morehead City, NC; and grandchildren, Jed Griggs, Wyatt Griggs, and Ayden Rock.
