Barbara Jane Lowe-Newton

Barbara Jane Lowe-Newton, 87, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Her family will hold a private celebration of her life to honor her memory.

Barbara was born on May 8, 1938, to the late Antone and Alicia Rego. Born and raised in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, she relocated to the coast of North Carolina in 1987. Her love for the Lord was the foundation of her life and she was a faithful member of the Crystal Coast Church of the Nazarene.

Barbara was known for her exceptional creativity, expressing herself through painting, coloring, and crafting beautiful ceramics. She enjoyed getting lost in a good book and loved to travel, always eager to explore new places.

Barbara's warm spirit touched the lives of many, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her children, Kendall Lowe (Donna) of Hubert, NC, Stephen Lowe (Diane) of Jacksonville, NC, Lisha Lowe of Morehead City, NC, Stacie Field (Bobby) of Poland, ME, Trisha Leith (Gerald) of Marietta, GA, Kelly Collison (Andy) of Jacksonville, NC, and Melissa Gates (Mark) of Cape Carteret, NC; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley Allan Lowe and her second husband, Robert D. Newton Sr.
