Barbara Jean Jones, born January 29, 1948, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Barbara will be laid to rest at West Virginia National Cemetery, in Grafton, West Virginia where her family will gather privately to honor her life and the love she gave so freely.

Barbara was a steady and loving presence throughout her life — someone her family could rely on, someone who showed her care through quiet support and simple acts of kindness.

Barbara spent more than 25 years working as a nurse, a role through which she cared for others with the same steadiness and compassion she showed her own family.

She shared 59 years of marriage with her husband, David Jones, and together they raised a close, tight‑knit family. Barbara was a devoted mother to Terry Jones, Kimberly Jones, and Leia Hall, and she took pride in being there for them whenever she was needed. She was also a caring grandmother to her three grandchildren and a proud great‑grandmother to two great‑grandchildren, all of whom brought her joy. In addition, she opened her home and her heart to her mother, Rosalie Poe. Their long, steady bond became a source of strength and comfort woven into the rhythm of daily family life. Her family always knew they could count on her, and that sense of comfort is what they will miss most.

Her passing leaves a quiet space in the lives of those who loved her, and her family will carry forward the closeness, steadiness, and care she brought into their home.
