Audrey Simmons Smith

Audrey Simmons Smith, 70, of Beaufort, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Carteret Health Care.

Audrey was born on September 9, 1952, in upstate New York, to the late William and Audrey Buck. Working most of her life in the medical field, her roles included being a paramedic, nurse and lastly working as a bookkeeper for Beach Care. One thing for sure, Audrey took great care of each person she assisted over the years. In her free time, fishing and working on her computer were her two favorite enjoyments.

She is survived by her soulmate of 25 years, Julian H. Fulcher of the home; daughter, Jennifer Scott of Chesapeake, VA; stepmother who raised Audrey since the age of 8 and whom Audrey loved dearly, Jane Buck of Clinton, NY; brother, Michael Buck of Asheville, NC;  sister, Elizabeth “Beth” Blair of Clinton, NY; and 3 precious grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her brothers, William Buck Jr. and Chris Buck.
