Arthur J. Coats
January 21, 1933 — April 7, 2016
Arthur J. Coats, 83, of Havelock, passed away Thursday April 7, 2016 at Huntersville Oaks, Huntersville, NC.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 Monday, April 11, 2016 at Carteret Memorial Gardens, Beaufort, NC.
Mr. Coats retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and the Fleet Reserve Association.
He is survived by his son, Arthur “Jay” Coats and wife Jenny of Fuquay Varina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna M. Coats; parents, John and Nellie Coats; two brothers, Earl Baily Coats and Fred Alan Coats; and two sisters Ruby Lee and Dorothy.
