Archie Keith Russell

Archie Keith Russell, 91, of Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, went to heaven on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Carteret Health Care.

A Celebration of Life to honor Archie will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 16th at Bogue Banks Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Stephen Bath.

Archie was born on January 7, 1934, in Wilson, NC, to the late Charlie and Lucille Russell. A proud graduate of Charles L. Coon High School in Wilson, Archie went on to have a long and successful career in advertising. He worked for WNCT Channel 9 and WCTI Channel 12 and later owned and operated his own business, Archie Russell and Son. His wife lovingly nicknamed him the “Ad Guru,” a title he wore with pride.

Archie had a whole lot of love for his family and thought the world of his neighbors, always saying they were the best in the world. He took great joy in working in his yard, creating a beautiful space for all to enjoy. Living at the beach brought him so much happiness, and he cherished time spent with his beloved granddaughter, Lilli. Archie will be remembered for his generous spirit, kind heart, and the love he shared with family, friends, and neighbors.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his sons, Keith Russell of Atlantic Beach, NC and Robert Macon Russell (Kristi) of Atlantic Beach, NC; and granddaughter, Lilli Russell.

In addition to his parents, Archie was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Mcfarland Russell and numerous siblings.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bogue Banks Baptist Church, 1417 W. Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512.
