Anna Owens Sebastian, 88, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

A gathering of family and friends to honor Anna’s life will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 9th at Munden Funeral Home. Anna will be laid to rest privately at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Anna was born on May 27, 1938, in New Bern, North Carolina, to the late William and Susan Owens. She was a dedicated house manager with Civil Service, where she worked for many years. She was known for her caring nature and strong sense of responsibility, qualities that served her well throughout her career

Anna loved the Lord and was a faithful member of First Methodist Church in Havelock. Her faith was an important part of her life and brought her comfort and strength throughout the years.

A wonderfully creative woman, Anna found joy in filling her days with things she loved. She was an exceptional baker, especially known for the beautifully detailed cake decorations she created. She also had a true green thumb and took great pride in her garden. Her love of gardening led her to become involved in several garden clubs, where she enjoyed sharing her passion with others. Anna also had a special place in her heart for cats, appreciating their affectionate, cuddly nature as much as their wonderfully independent and persnickety personalities.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sons, Paul Sebastian and wife Mary of Victorville, CA and William Sebastian of Bremerton, WA; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Sebastian and Catherine Sebastian.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her sister, Lauretta York.
