Alton Newby
August 9, 1933 — June 11, 2010
Alton Gene Newby, 76, of Adams Creek, died Friday, June 11, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Newby was retired from Civil Service and was a commercial fisherman who enjoyed clamming and working in his garden.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday at Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi Newby; sons, Garfield Louis Newby and wife Ginger of Havelock, John Timothy Newby of WA and Virgil L. Newby and wife Tiny of Havelock; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale St., Memphis, TN, 38105.
