Alfred Kenneth Bitter

Alfred Kenneth Bitter, 67, of Harlowe, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Warsaw Nursing Home in Warsaw, NC.

A funeral service to honor Alfred’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 16^th at Harlowe United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Michael Williams and Rev. David Rimmer. Interment will follow at Harlowe United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Alfred was born on May 10, 1957, in Morehead City, NC, to the late David and Lois Bitter. He was a much-loved member of the community and a beloved family man. Alfred was known for his tireless work ethic, and he found much fulfillment working at Temple Farms and Temple Tree Services. Whether he was tending to the land at the farm or braving the aftermath of storms with Temple Tree Services, Alfred approached each task with a sense of purpose. Though he may be gone from our sight, Alfred’s spirit will live on through all the lives he touched.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughter, Freida Cox; sister, Angela Bitter Griffin; granddaughter, Jordan Conner; grandson, Jayden Conner; aunts, Josie Conner Guthrie, Audrey Midgette; stepdaughters, Sandra Brimm, Talisha Brim, Kacey Lawrenson Spencer Brim; step-granddaughter, Meya Lawrenson; niece, Jamie Griffin; and his beloved pet, Junior who has been placed in his new forever home.
