Alexis Smith, 74, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2026, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

Alexis was born on January 15, 1952, in Carteret County, NC, to the late Henry and Margaret Pinkhan.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Billie Dawn Harvey of Newport, NC: granddaughter, Kemmerlyn Lawrence of New Bern, NC; and great grandchildren, Devon Lawrence of Copperas Cove, TX, Demi Petznick of Newport, NC, David Evans of Charlotte, NC, and Autumn Cheyenne Lawrence, of Newport, NC.

In addition to her parents, Alexis was preceded in death by her husband, David Earl Smith, and daughter, Claudia Harvey.
